Back in Rotation

It's so good seeing these alive again after accumulating dust and animal hair for the past several years, and that was after being pulled from over a decade in storage. I had long kissed my DJ days good bye. A couple years ago, a guy I worked with bought one of those pallets from a liquidation sale where you don't know what you're going to get. He ended up with a DJ controller, and knowing I used to mix music he asked me to show him how to use it. Well I went over to his house and the next thing I know I'm going to town on this thing like I never stopped. Even though it was a crappy little Gemini unit, I wanted it because I wanted to go straight home and do it some more. I think I paid him like $50 for it, brought it home and proceeded to mix until the jog wheels fell off. I didn't really have any records anymore so my Technics would have to wait, I needed that instant gratification. So I ended up with the Denons.

The Denons are awesome, but something was missing. I lose interest in things when I'm not challenged, and mixing records was always challenging no matter how many times I did it. JDubb told me he was coming over soon along with Shade so we can stream some music on Twitch, and it was the perfect catalyst for me to dig these turntables out and breathe some life back into them. I've been buying records over the past year, so expect some mixes from me soon.
